Disney Lower Third Refresh & Templating
I animated smooth transitions for existing lower-third graphics for use in future content production, and created and updated new designs based on established brand guides. I then templated each lower third using After Effects’ MOGRT file system, streamlining the workflow so they could be brought into Premiere without extra render time or edits to the core After Effects project file.

Initially, these were built as After Effects templates the team could easily edit for each lower third a project needed. I programmed After Effects expressions to fit each lower third’s specific requirements, so users could type in information and have the text automatically space itself out without any manual transforming or cropping required. I also animated each lower third’s individual pieces to give it unique flair matching the brand design.
Research led me to MOGRT files: assets with editable variables built into an After Effects composition, letting the team edit directly from Premiere without ever opening After Effects. That was a major timesaver for the whole team!
